God of War 2 help! : Courtyard of Atrophos?

Ohk, so I have killed Perseus and his body is hanging from the giant chain. I supposedly have his shield and thats all fine and dandy but how do I affix it to the statue? I have no clue. I even tried pushing the statue down first, putting it on the wooden bridge, raising it, then using the Fleece to block the other eye green ray but it wont work without the shield on the statue! HELP!
