How many different tetras are there?

I am wondering how many different tetra fish there are out there? I used to have a 10 gallon tank with a few different tetras. I know they are schooling fish but I want to know if all tetras school with each other? I now have a 30 gallon tank and would like to have 1 or 2 of a bunch of tetras. Is this possible?
