I'm 20 years old and I'm interested in moving to atlanta, ga! I'm moving from Phoenix Az.. Any advice?

I am a licensed hair stylist still living at home with my parents. I'm enrolled in a community college here taking business cles and I just want change or something new with my life as well as my cosmetology career! My dream would be to move to NYC but I feel like atl would be a good start to manage living on my own. I would definately like to transfer to a school in atl as well.. I guess I'm looking for advice from natives of atl.i like southern atomosphere but ultimately I'm a city girl! I've lived in Los Angeles too so I'm used to being in a "city" environment which I think atl has.. I'm very easy going and I can adapt to places. I js would lik to no where's a nice affordable (700 a month for 1-2 beds) area to live. A nice church of Christ to get into/schools and enjoy life on my own.I haven't took any big steps but all advice would b appreciate.. Even advice about moving to a diff state! Thanks so much!!
