Cheated by afford international packers and movers?

I hired them to shift my house hold goods from delhi to Mumbai on march 6th 2010 and gave them a check for the entire amount dated march 9th they picked up the goods on march 6th but did not deposit my check on the 9th I kept calling them but they keep giving excuses and delayed the deleivery of my consignement they finally deposited my check on march 29th .and even after that they delivered my goods on april 15th but i was shocked to see that my tv fridge and a carton of clothes was missing from teh consignment .. when i call them they said that i need to pay the storage charges as teh goods were in there godown for a long time only after that they will deliver the remaining items I am compleetly dejected .with thsi incident please suggest what should i do ..should i file an FIR OR SHOULD I go to the consumer court? ..please advise
