39 weeks preg.. help!!?

okay ive been getting the odd period pain feeling now and then, not uncomftable, for the past week or so and yesterday had very very painfull 'lightning' pains from her pressing down, she is engaged and my midwife said its just a waiting game now.. ive eaten hot foods, had , s, longish walks and nothing! (i just get a pinfull stitch if i walk far!) LOL. what else could work.. i dont wanna be overdue.xx
